RESURGE started in a small shop in Missouri, with one man who wouldn't let a job go out until it was right. This is the story of where that habit came from, and where it goes next.
Who we are
RESURGE is Jeff Forbush. Jeff is an Army veteran, and for nearly 17 years he ran 4Bush WRS in Missouri.
If you've never heard of 4Bush WRS, here's the short version: it's a Cerakote and laser engraving shop. Cerakote is a tough, ceramic-based coating sprayed onto metal parts and baked on, so the finish holds up to hard use. Every job went out one piece at a time, and nothing left the shop until it was good enough to put his name on.
Why "RESURGE"
Resurgence means rising again: a strong comeback, and new life in something that had gone quiet. That's true for me. After retiring from the Army and exiting a few small business ventures, I wanted to find a purpose again. RESURGE is that comeback, built around the watches I've loved since I was a kid.
What we're doing
We're bringing that same shop standard to watches. Our first watch is NIGHTSTRIKE: a 42mm automatic sport watch in matte black PVD-coated 316L steel, with a small pop of color.
In Jeff's words: "I built a black watch with just a touch of color because it's the watch I wanted to wear. It works with jeans and a T-shirt, and it works when you dress up a bit. The accent color adds a little attitude, and it's fun to match to what you're wearing that day."
Inside is a genuine Seiko NH36 automatic movement, not a Chinese clone, regulated to ±10 seconds a day, with a timing card in the box. Water resistant to 200m. Every watch is pressure-tested at the factory.
The first 100 are the Founders 100: 100 numbered watches, 20 in each of five colors, Drive, Focus, Progress, Momentum and Perspective. Each one is numbered on the caseback with the Founders mark, and the waitlist gets first access.

Why we're doing it
I've loved watches since I was a kid: buying them, collecting them, wearing them. Somewhere along the way, life got busy and I forgot why. I decided it was time to get back to the simple things that bring me joy, and watches were first on that list.
RESURGE is also about something bigger than me. I want to build a legacy for my children and for anyone who wears one of our watches. A well-made watch can be handed down from one generation to the next, and that's a wonderful thing to leave behind.
My designs come from the same place: simple and clean, with a new angle you won't see everywhere else. Sweat the details, finish it right, and tell people straight what's in the box. That's why we price fairly from the start, back every watch with a 5-year transferable warranty, answer every email ourselves, and show the whole process in the Build Log.
